Montador Signs Four-Year Deal With Blackhawks

CHICAGO (WSCR) Defenseman Steve Montador has signed a four-year deal with the Blackhawks, the team confirmed Thursday.

The amount of money the contract is worth was not announced, but sources told 670 The Score it is worth $11 million over the life of the contract.

The Blackhawks acquired the negotiating rights to Montador from Buffalo Wednesday in exchange for a seventh round draft pick in either 2012 or 2013.

Montador scored five goals and tallied 21 assists with the Sabres last season, while also leading his team with 128 blocked shots.
