Quentin And Castro Make All-Star Game Rosters

(CBS) -- Chicago won't have many representatives at the July 12 All-Star game in Phoenix. When the rosters were announced on Sunday, only two Chicago players made the cut.

Outfielder Carlos Quentin will represent the White Sox, and shortstop Starlin Castro will represent the Cubs. Both players made the rosters as reserve players.

Quentin is hitting .253 with 17 home runs, 49 RBI and a .354 on-base percentage.

Castro, 21 years old, has the second-most hits in the National League and is batting .309 with two HR, 37 RBI and a .340 OBP.

Surprisingly, Paul Konerko (.317 BA, 21 HR, 62 RBI, .387 OBP) didn't make the roster for the American League.

Toronto outfielder Jose Bautista got the most votes in the fan balloting for starting spots.

Philadelphia aces Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels are part of the NL pitching staff. The Phillies have the best record in the majors.

Bautista will lead an AL lineup that includes four starters from the Yankees. Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson will represent New York.

The Milwaukee Brewers had three players picked to start for the NL - Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun and Rickie Weeks.
