Motor Home Fire Injures One In Westchester

WESTCHESTER, Ill. (CBS) — It was an explosive start to the Fourth of July for a resident of west suburban Westchester on Monday and it had nothing to do with fireworks.

A fire broke out in a motor home parked in the driveway at 1251 Heidorn Avenue in Westchester on Monday morning.

A smoke detector in the mobile home was working and the person inside got out, but a neighbor said that a nearby propane tank exploded as a result of the fire and the person who had been inside the motor home suffered burns.

A fire truck that was actually headed for an Independence Day parade made a detour to help put out the fire.

The victim was taken to Adventist LaGrange Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire was under investigation on Monday.

Looks like the windshield held for a good while and kept the exposure from being involved as well. Nice stop.
