As WBBM Newsradio 780's Mary Frances Bragiel reports, officials are working overtime to rectify the situation. Metra says it has been in contact with the bank its bank, which is reviewing all transactions that took place at station ticket windows on June 27.

That was the day when nearly 1,500 Metra customers were charged twice for a ticket.

Metra says all overcharges will be reversed within two to three business days, or by this coming Saturday.

"Metra apologizes for the inconvenience caused to our customers," the transit agency says on its Web site. "We are working with our credit card processing provider to ensure the necessary protocols are in place to prevent future recurrences."
