Trash Fire Extinguished At Back Of The Yards Factory

Updated 07/07/11 - 2:56 p.m.

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A fire that broke out at a Back of the Yards factory on Thursday has been put out, with no injuries reported.

The fire broke out around 12:45 p.m. at a one-story factory building at 48th and Morgan streets, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Garbage, including tires, began burning in the courtyard of a 400-by-400-foot factory at that intersection, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado.

Firefighters were making sure the fire did not spread into the factory but it was controlled at 1:10 p.m. and no one was hurt, said Rosado.
