EVANSTON, Ill. (CBS) — As Harry Potter fans look forward to a bittersweet trip to theaters later this week, they’re not taking any chances.

As WBBM Newsradio 780’s Michele Fiore reports, many have already purchased advance tickets. At the Evanston Century 12 theater, 1715 Maple Ave., they’re showing “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” on 18 screens. Fifteen are already sold out.

And if you’re going to the midnight show, movie managers say plan to arrive two to three hours early.

Harry Potter fan Tim Zee of Gurnee spoke with Newsradio 780. He has been getting his wardrobe together.

“I think I was Harry Potter last year, so I don’t know,” Zee said. “Maybe this year I’ll be Draco Malfoy.”

Zee says he wouldn’t miss that first showing, when he says the crowd’s energy just makes it fun.

“Are you kidding? It’s crazy. It’s awesome. I wouldn’t go any other day, well, of course, except to see it again.”

In Evanston, you can get started early on the whole event. For $38, you can attend a Harry Potter marathon beginning Thursday.
