CHICAGO (WSCR) It’s been well documented that Alex Brown never wanted to leave the Bears after the 2009 season. And while the Saints’ defensive end still lives in Chicago and has no hard feelings, he does have a message for Bears’ fans.

Joining Zach Zaidman Tuesday night on 670 The Score, Brown criticized Bears fans for only being supportive when the team is winning and said Saints fans are there for them through the good and bad.

“I think what I’ve learned over the last year with the Who Dat Nation and the New Orleans Saints fans, even though they don’t own the team, they act like they own a piece of the team and they are so in tune with what is going on,” Brown said. “They are so genuinely happy about the team. I honestly don’t belive I heard a boo the whole year. It was amazing.”

Brown then went on to compare the Saints fans to Bears fans.

“It’s not the same,” he said. “It’s not the same. You do have energy (in Chicago) but it’s when the Bears are winning—that’s when the energy is … You boo, but you know that the Bears (fans) care, that’s why they boo. But it’s just, the booing doesn’t help … You just never heard the boos at the (Superdome).”

Assuming the lockout is lifted, the Bears are set to visit Brown and the Saints in New Orleans Week 2.

“Week 2. Any Bears fans that really want to see a fanbase just go absolutely nuts for a team, come out Week 2, first game of the season for the Saints at home,” Brown said. “Come down. Watch the Bears and the Saints and you will see a dome full of fans that is just unbelieveable.”

Then, after thinking about it for a brief second, Brown took it a step forward, giving not only Bears fans, but also Bears players, some bulletin board material:

“Come to the game Week 2,” he said. “I’m going to put it out there. I know my guys are going to support me down in Louisiana. We’re going to kick the Bears butt so come on down. Come on and enjoy it.”

damn alex, knowing you, you will either have the game of the century or be nowhere to be seen, then again how is that different from the rest of your career. you tend to have a great game and then, disappear. and is your skin that thin? their better fans because they don’t boo? Well, they were defending superbowl champs you moron. If the bears win, WIN the superbowl and go 8 and 8 the next year, people will be forgiving. and of course, you didn’t get booed out in seattle because their fans sold thier stadium out, but if that were a home game and you played like that, you would get boo’d.
