CHICAGO (STMW) – Two men were shot — one fatally — in the Humboldt Park area early Saturday, police said.

About 1:30 a.m., the two men, were standing on the sidewalk on the 3600 block of West Chicago Avenue when a light-colored vehicle drove by, a report from police News Affairs said.

Someone inside the car opened fire, striking a 23-year-old man in the abdomen and another man in the chest, the report said.

The 23-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, the report said. The other man, 28-year-old Stanley Washington, of the 7500of  South Peoria St., was taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

No one was in custody early Saturday. Harrison Area detectives are investigating.

Would someone explain to me what the attraction is that would make a person in Chicago to stand on a street at 1;30 AM?

      EXACTLY!

    • Stanley’s friend

a person should be able to stand where ever they want, whenever they feel like it.
