DOLTON, Ill. (STMW) – A 37-year-old Dolton woman was killed Saturday night in a crash between a car and the motorcycle she was riding in the south suburb.

The crash happened at 655 E. Sibley Blvd., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. Killed was Ernestine Temple, of 14418 S. Kimbark in Dolton. Temple was pronounced dead at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey at 9:10 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

Temple was the sole occupant of a Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Sibley when a Ford sport-utility vehicle that was also on Sibley, was turning onto Everts Street failed to yield and hit her, according to Dolton spokeswoman TaQuoya Kennedy. It was not immediately known what direction the SUV was going.

The man behind the wheel of the SUV grabbed his license plates and tried to flee on foot, but his nephew remained inside the SUV after the crash. Bystanders and witnesses ran after the driver, and held him until police got there, and arrested him , Kennedy said.

Charges were pending Sunday afternoon.

Good work by the bystanders/witnesses in catching the driver of this SUV. I hope he serves jail time for killing this woman. It’s good to know there are still people that will get involved. Condolences to the family of Ms. Temple.

Hopefully they will do something about this. The woman who killed Anita Zaffke got part time jail time. Yes..part time. She comes and goes like the jail is her 2nd home. She leaves in the morning, comes back in the evening, has her dinner prepped for her, her cell has been cleaned by maintenance and she sits back, makes phone calls, watches TV…and has no other cares in the world.

Find out who the Judge was that gave her such a break. HE’S the one that should be fired when he comes up for reelection. The Judge called the shots on her “punishment” and he deserves to be fired.

I know the 3 children of this mother . They are so lost . They don’t have a mother anymore, and she was a single mother. These children can’t stop crying , they don’t know how to plan a funeral .. How at 19 years old ( the oldest child) do u burie ur mother.. No Life insurance. Who will help them even when she is buried. Ages 19 yrs , 17yrs, and 6yrs old. God help and Bless them..

I DIDNT KNOW HER I WAS PASTING BY AND SAW HER LYING IN THE STREET I JUMPED OUT THE CAR, OH MY GOD I SAID, IS SHE BREATHING, IS SHE OK.( OH MY GOD) I KEPT SAYING.ME AND THIS LADY BEGIN TO PRAY.EVERYDAY I WONDERED WAS SHE OK , SO YESTERDAY IMY SISTER AND I RODE DOWN SIBLEY I SAW THE STUFFED ANIMALS AND SAID TO MY SISTER SHE DIDNT MAKE IT. i CANT GET HER OUT OF MY HEAD, MY HEART GOES OUT TO HER FAMILY.I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR THEM.
