Report: Multiple Teams Interested In A. Ramirez

CHICAGO (CBS) At least three American League teams are still interested in pursuing Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez despite his insistence that he will not waive his no-trade clause.

The Chicago Tribune's Phil Rogers reported Monday that the New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim covet Ramirez.

"Like the Yankees, the Tigers are considering approaching the Cubs on a deal that would amount to one-stop shopping," the report says. "They'd ask for Ramirez, Carlos Zambrano and cash while offering slumping third baseman Brandon Inge and prospects, with left-hander Andy Oliver drawing a lot of attention. Inge could fill the Cubs' need for a player to form a bridge to Josh Vitters, and Wrigley Field fans would love his hard-nosed style (although not so much if he continues to hit .180)."

When asked again Monday if he would consider waiving his no-trade clause, Ramirez said he didn't want to do it in the middle of the season because the move would be too hard on his family.
