Man’s Body Pulled From Lagoon

GARY, Ind. (STMW) – A man’s body was discovered floating in a lagoon Wednesday in Marquette Park in Gary, Ind.

The body had been discovered floating face down in the west leg of Marquette Park’s lagoon just west of Lake Street.

Lake County and Gary Fire Department divers retrieved the body about two hours after they were first notified.

Gary Police Detective Cpl. Michael Barnes said a gun was also recovered, but it was unclear if it belonged to the dead man. An autopsy would be performed Thursday.

“We don’t know if it’s a homicide,” Barnes said.

Anyone with information about the man’s body can call Barnes at (219) 881-7434.
