CHICAGO (CBS) The White Sox sent pitcher Hector Santiago back to the minor leagues following Tuesday’s game to make room for John Danks who will start Wednesday’s series finale against the Royals.

Santiago, 23, has appeared in two games with the White Sox this season. He pitched 5.1 scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and striking out two.

The left-handed pitcher made his Major League debut against Kansas City July 6, and allowed just one hit over 4.1 scoreless innings in his most recent outing against the Minnesota Twins on July 7.

Santiago is 6 feet tall and 210 pounds. He has gone 6-5 with a 4.08 ERA, and 73 strikeouts, between Class A Winston-Salem, and Class AA Birmingham where he now plays.
