Woman Attacked In Ladies' Restroom At Aurora Lowe's Store

AURORA, Ill. (CBS) – A 29-year-old Aurora man was in custody after he allegedly assaulted a woman in the ladies' restroom of a home-improvement store earlier this week.

Tyrone M. Young faces felony counts of criminal sexual assault, attempted criminal sexual assault and aggravated battery as well as misdemeanor public indecency in connection with the Wednesday morning attack at Lowe's on Orchard Road.

Police say Young hid in a stall of the women's restroom and emerged wearing only boxer shorts as a 35-year-old woman was washing her hands at a sink. Young grabbed the woman by her head and slammed her to the floor. When another woman in the restroom appeared from a different bathroom stall, the suspect got dressed and fled.

A bystander outside the washroom observed Young drive away in a dark green Pontiac and wrote down the license plate. Police used that information to track down Young at his home and arrested him.

The victim suffered several bruises but declined medical treatment, Aurora police say.

Young's bond was set at $500,000 on Thursday. His next court appearance is July 29.
