(CBS) The Cubs have signed draft pick Trevor Gretzky, the son of Wayne Gretzky, according to the Toronto Sun.

The Cubs drafted the first baseman out of Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, Calif. He was set to play for San Diego State this coming fall before he was drafted in the seventh round.

“We heard he signed with the Cubs on Monday,” San Diego State Aztecs coach and Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn to the Toronto Sun.
