Uptown Man Dies From Heat Stroke

CHICAGO (STMW) - A Saturday autopsy has determined an Uptown neighborhood man has died of heat stroke, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

It marks the eighth death since Thursday caused at least in part by extreme heat

David Nikuni, 59, of the 900 block of West Gunnison St., died of heat stroke and his death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner's office.

Nikuni was found at his home and was pronounced dead at 7:24 a.m. Friday at Weiss Memorial Hospital, according to the medical examiner's office.

Autopsies Friday found the deaths of seven people in the last two days were also caused at least in part by heat.
