Chicago Cop Struck By Vehicle

CHICAGO (STMW) – A female Chicago Police officer is recovering at a Near West Side hospital after being struck by a vehicle Sunday morning.

AT 9:18 a.m. Chicago Fire Department personnel responded to the intersection of 21st Place and Oakley Avenue for a police officer who was apparently outside her vehicle when another vehicle struck her, according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford.

She was transported to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where she is in good condition, said Langford.

Police had no information immediately.

How about not standing in the road, I think thats a question on the entrance exam.

  • Smartie

Oooops. . .oh, well, things to do. people to see so gotta go!!! No time to feel sorry for cops.

Whooopsie :/ Cops need to pay a little better attention to their surroundings instead of walking around thinking they are “all tht”. Seriously.

  • Remember when?

It cracks me up when people hate on the police. You are all one of two things. 1. Cowards who are afraid to stand up to the thugs and murderers in your community. or 2. You are the thugs and the murderers in your own community. Then you wonder why too few people give a damn what happens on the west and south sides. There is simply no sympathy by those in a civilized society for those uncivilized members of society who find it funny that a person sworn to protect people was hurt doing their job. Remember that next time you need a cop.

I heard this was adjacent to a Dunkin Donuts. Go figure.
