Fire Breaks Out In Radiation Therapy Room At Arlington Heights Hospital

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (CBS) -- Fire crews were called out Wednesday afternoon when an electrical fire broke out in a radiation therapy room at the Northwest Community Healthcare hospital in Arlington Heights.

The suburb's fire department called a Code 4 for the fire, which was limited to the radiation therapy room, fire officials said. The blaze was extinguished quickly.

There was smoke, but no one was in the room, fire officials said.

Radiation treatments that would have required the room will be rescheduled, as the room will be unusable for a couple of days, fire officials said.

The rest of the hospital was not affected.
