DARIEN, Ill. (STMW) - A 52-year-old motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a vehicle in west suburban Woodridge Tuesday afternoon.

The man was identified by the DuPage County Coroner's office as William Pott, of the 8200 block of Deerwood Court in Woodridge.

Pott was riding his motorcycle west on Plainfield Road on Tuesday about 4:40 p.m. when he collided with another vehicle as he approached Lemont Road, a release from the coroner's office said.

Pott was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with severe injuries and was pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, the release said. An autopsy on Wednesday found he died of multiple traumatic injuries to his head and chest.

Darien police continue to investigate the crash. No citations had been issued as of Wednesday evening.
