Police Search For Gunman In Auburn-Gresham Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police continue to search for a gunman who shot and critically wounded a man in the Auburn-Gresham neighborhood this week.

The 25-year-old victim was standing on the corner in the 8000 block of South Racine Avenue about 10 p.m. Tuesday, when a dark colored vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots at him, police said.

Paramedics responded to the scene and took the man shot to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva.

As of last report, nobody was in custody, and further details about the shooting and the motive were not known. An investigation remains underway.
