Suspect Arrested After Firing Shots At U.S. Marshals

CHICAGO (CBS) — A suspect has been arrested, after shots were filed at U.S. Marshals serving a federal warrant in the Humboldt Park neighborhood Thursday morning.

U.S. Marshals were attempting to serve an arrest warrant at 7:22 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Drake Avenue when they were fired upon, according to police New Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.

No one was hit or injured, Kubiak said. The area was secured at 7:35 a.m. and a person was taken in to custody.

Further details about the warrant and the confrontation were not immediately available.

Chicago Police assisted in the operation, Kubiak said.
