RIVERDALE, Ill. (CBS) – Police are interviewing witnesses in the deadly shooting of a man in south suburban Riverdale.

Maurice Thomas, 33, was shot at 11:18 p.m. Thursday at 137th Street and Eggleston Avenue in Riverdale, police said.

Thomas, of the 3900 block of Peach Grove Lane in Hazel Crest, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead at 11:41 p.m. at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Riverdale police detectives are interviewing witnesses, but had no one in custody as of Friday morning. The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is also investigating.
