OAK LAWN, Ill. (STMW) – A woman was shot in the arm early Wednesday when three armed males entered her southwest suburban Oak Lawn home.

Police responded at 12:15 a.m. to a home invasion with a person shot in the 1000 block of Buell Court in Oak Lawn, according to a release from Oak Lawn police. A 24-year-old woman was shot in the arm by three armed males.

A male relative of the woman fired a shotgun at the men but missed, the release said. The males fled in a blue sports-utility vehicle and minutes later a police officer attempted to stop a vehicle matching the vehicle’s description at West 95th Street and South Central Avenue.

The SUV fled and was pursued by police north on South Harlem Avenue into Summit, the release said. The males jumped out of the moving vehicle at West 61st place and South Harlem Avenue.

Two males were caught soon after and three firearms were recovered from the vehicle, the release said. The third male was captured two hours later in the same area.

A fourth male, who is still at large, is described as black, in his early 20s, the release said. He was last seen wearing jeans and a sports jersey with stripes.

The woman, who is the wife of the homeowner, was treated and released from Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the release said. There were no other injuries.

Oak Lawn police are investigating.

This is totally outragous! The shotgun guy should have kept going until justice was served! As soon as the suspects jumped out of the vehicle, the police should have opened up. One of them was caught in the area. The interrogation will certainly extract the name of the fourth guy.

    Mr. Burns,
As soon as the men left the residence, they were no longer fair play. The “shotgun guy” would have been arrested for excessive force because the robbers left the residence and were no longer a threat. Learn the law.

He followed the law….and protected his home accordingly. I am in full agreement with you Marty.

Don’t these black people have something better to do than to rob and terrorize white folks?

Can’t they just watch some reruns of Martin or something?
Or shoot other black people, and leave us white folks alone?
