Cook County Sheriff’s Deputy Thrown From Motorcycle In Crash

CHICAGO (CBS) — An off-duty Cook County sheriff’s deputy was thrown from his motorcycle in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning.

Illinois State Police say a black pickup truck hit the motorcycle in the outbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway near 63rd Street around 1:15 a.m., then took off.

The pickup truck came up from behind and hit the motorcycle in the express lanes, state police said.

The deputy was injured, but not critically, state police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County.

State Police are investigating.
