Person Found Floating In River Near State Street

CHICAGO (CBS) — One person was in critical condition Friday morning after he was found floating in the Chicago River downtown.

Rescuers pulled the person from the river near State Street just after 1:30 a.m. Friday. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Police are investigating how the person wound up in the water.

Coincidentally, the site where the man was found in the water is directly below the scene of some mayhem earlier this week. On Monday, a 29-year-old man was shot and critically wounded on the State Bridge during the afternoon rush.
