Police Recover SUV Used In Robbery Of Flagship McDonald's

OAK BROOK, Ill. (CBS) -- Police have recovered the SUV used in the armed robbery of the flagship McDonald's restaurant in Oak Brook over the weekend.

Just after 10 p.m. Sunday, Oak Brook police were called for an armed robbery at the McDonald's at 1120 W. 22nd St., police said in a news release.

Two men in a gray Toyota 4-Runner had pulled up to the drive-through window of the restaurant and the passenger pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money, police said. After the cashier handed over an undisclosed amount of money, the robbers fled and were last seen near 22nd Street and Kingery Highway in Oak Brook.

On Wednesday, Oak Brook police recovered the 4-Runner, which had been reported stolen on Aug. 11. Police were processing the vehicle for evidence as of Wednesday afternoon and the robbery remained under investigation.
