CHICAGO (CBS) — Two men have been charged with forcing their way into an apartment in the southwest corner of the Lincoln Park neighborhood, and robbing them.

Avery Cooper, 20, of the 1600 block of West Fifth Avenue in Chicago Heights, and David Vines, 18, of 100 block of West Wilder Rd. in Chickamauga, Ga., were charged with 13 counts each of armed home invasion, according to police.

Authorities brought 13 counts because there were 13 victims, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

On Wednesday, both men were ordered held without bond and preliminary hearings were set for Friday, Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokeswoman Lisa Gordon said.

No one was hurt during the incident, which took place at 10 p.m. July 21 at 1874 N. Bissell St., close to Clybourn and Sheffield avenues.

The two suspects two allegedly forced their way into a first-floor apartment and demanded the victim’s cell phones and valuables at gunpoint, police said.

Further details of the robbery and the motive were not immediately learned.

The two found their way to Michigan, and were apprehended in Detroit by Belmont Area Chicago Police detectives and the U.S. Marshals.
