SCHILLLER PARK (CBS) — A person walking through a northwest suburban forest preserve Tuesday evening encountered a grisly sight — the body of a man hanging from a tree, a victim of an apparent suicide.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday a person walking through Schiller Woods at Irving Park Road and the Des Plaines River spotted the body hanging from a tree, Cook County Forest Preserve District spokesman Mike Truppa said.

The body was identified as Alfonso Flores, 50, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Flores was reported missing on Monday by his wife, who lives in Schiller Park, Truppa said. No foul play is suspected, Truppa said, and the death is believed to be a suicide.

How can this story assume it was a suicice? Was there any indication that he was depressed or suicidal? They should have listed a reason why this was assumed.

Clearly, just living in IL is enough to make one suicidal.
