Girl, 15, Reported Missing After Not Showing Up For School

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police were asking for the public's help in searching for a 15-year-old girl from the Grand Crossing neighborhood, who never showed up for school on Friday.

EddieMae Hackman, of the 7500 block of South Dante Avenue, was last seen leaving home at about 8 a.m. Friday, police said.

At the time, she said she was going to school, but she never showed up to school. She was last seen wearing her school uniform – a white shirt with beige pants – and black Adidas shoes.

She had her hair in red and black braids and was carrying a black bookbag with red stripes, police said.

Hackman is a 5-foot 1, 137-pound African-American girl with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. She also has a tattoo of a heart charm bracelet around her right wrist.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call 911 or contact Calumet Area Special Victims Unit detectives at 312-747-8274.
