Les Grobstein Show - 8/30/11 *UPDATE*

GROBBER August 30,2011
===========================

***How about TWO shutouts by Chicago PITCHING THE SAME NIGHT! Mark Buehrle combined with Jessie Crain and Sergio Santos to blank the Twins 3-0 and Randy Wells tossed a complete game two hitter to beat Tim Lincecum and the Giants 7-0. Buehrle was clutch in holding Minnesota off the board while at the same time,the first place Tigers got walloped for the second straight day 9-5 by the Royals. Max Scherzer gave up seven runs in the first four innings. The Sox will likely see Scherzer this weekend.

***Dayan Viciedo looking good has predictably brought out the wolves(Fans)who are screaming why Ozzie Guillen and Kenny Williams didn't bring up Viciedo earlier with Adam Dunn going to the bench. Dunn is NOW likely to sit as long as Viciedo performs. This week,which ends with the Sox in Detroit for three weekend games,will be interesting.

***The Bears have their final Pre Season 'event' Thursday night with Cleveland at Soldier Field. We'll be on at 10pm with your Bears Post Game show Thursday night.Many Regulars figure to sit this game out. Roy Williams,however,needs to play a bit and hopefully catch a few more passes.

***Cedrick Benson, who I have always said was a mistake by the Bears when they drafted him in 1995,is headed for a ten day stint in jail for slugging a bartender in Austin,Texas last year.Benson is also getting fined $4000.00. He pleaded "No Contest". Benson's key fumble in Super Bowl 41,turned the momentum away from the Bears,in favor of the Colts. In his second carry,he was stuffed by Bob Sanders for no gain, took himself out of the game,not to return. Then the Bears cut Thomas Jones,kept Benson,and the rest is history.
