Chicago Ranks In Bottom 50 In Safe Driving Cities Report
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A new auto insurance company report seems to indicate there is a lot of mayhem going on in the Chicago area.
As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, Allstate has come out with its annual "America's Best Drivers Report."

For the second year in a row, Fort Collins, Colo., came out in first place for the report. Chicago came in toward the bottom, ranking at No. 157 out of the nation's 200 largest cities.
Motorists in Chicago average an accident about every 7.7 years, the study found.
But the city's rank has improved since last year, when it came in at No. 167.
But Allstate said the low ranking should be taken not as a failure, but a call to action.
"We don't want drivers in Chicago to be discouraged by their ranking. Instead, we want the report to challenge drivers in Chicago to make positive changes to their driving habits that will in turn make the city a safer place to live, work and raise families," Judith Dodd, Allstate Territory Sales Leader in Illinois, said in a news release.
Allstate advised motorists to begin following safe driving tips – minimize distractions such as cell phone use or even changing the radio station, being aware of road conditions and inclement weather, leaving a safe distance between your car and others, steering clear of road range, and maintaining the condition of your car.
A handful of suburban municipalities were also on the list, none of them faring particularly well. Naperville came in at No. 125, Aurora at No. 112, and Joliet at No. 96.
Rounding out the top five safest driving cities were Boise, Idaho; Lincoln, Neb.; Chandler, Ariz.; and Huntsville, Ala.
