Les Grobstein Show - 9/1/11 *UPDATE*

GROBBER---Fri September 1,2011
=========================

***I don't know what White Sox Fans have been more angry about on the Scorer, Jake Peavy's awful first inning(six runs), or Ozzie Guillen using Adam Dunn to pinch hit for Brent Lillibridge in the ninth inning(he fanned). The Sox made it close at the end,but with Dunn and Alex Rios,they had two of the worst possible batters in that ninth inning.

***After Detroit rallied for three runs in the eighth to beat Kansas City,and Cleveland edged Oakland in 15 innings Wednesday,the White Sox again trail the Tigers by 6 full games,and the Indians have leaped 1/2 game ahead of the Sox into second place. Detroit has one more game with the Royals Thursday afternoon,and should they win,the Sox would enter Comerica Park 6 1/2 games behind the Tigers. If Kansas City beats Detroit,then the Sox would be 5 1/2 games back. John Danks opposes Justin Verlander in Friday night's series opener.

***Tonight's fourth and final Pre Season event for the Bears will be typical for the fourth on the schedule in that several regulars will play little or not at all.Fans with tickets would be correct to feel they are getting a raw deal. That will not change as long as teams continue(which they will)to charge Regular Season prices for these Exhibition farces.
