GROBBER'S FRIDAY THOUGHTS---Sept 2,2011
====================================
***Thursday night's fourth Exhibition at Soldier Field is again proof as to why the NFL needs to cut the Pre Season from four to two contests and increase the Regular Season to 18 games. There were many empty seats as Season Ticket holder knew many regulars would not play. The Bears beat the Cleveland Browns 24-14 and showed the World that they have better back ups then Cleveland did. Johnny Knox had a terrific 19 yard TD grab from Caleb Hanie and former Notre Damer Robert Hughes scored twice,from the two and the one respectably.Craig Steltz and Kalill Bell were both dinged in the first half.

***So with Ohio State about to be nailed with additional infractions,and the fact that they got away almost Scott Free with the mess involving former Coach Jim Tressel and several players including QB Terrell Pryor, what excuse will the NCAA come up with this time to not lay down the deserved hammer on OSU's crooked Program? If Ohio State,USC and even Auburn continue to skate free of major penalties,then it proves that it doesn't matter what you do in violation of the corrupt NCAA rules,but it's how much money you bring into that coffers of this bogus organization!

***The White Sox caught a break Thursday when the Royals bullpen out pitched the Tigers relievers-especially Phil Coke who was pounded in the 7th inning,and gave up a two run lead. Cleveland was routed by Oakland,so the idle Sox are again tied with the Indians for second place, both 5 1/2 games behind Detroit. Friday night's series opener at Comerica Park is huge since it's John Danks against likely Cy Young winner Justin Verlander who hasn't lost in a couple of months,and that was to the Sox.If they somehow can beat Verlander,they would have a huge jump start in this series.Of course,the Tigers need just one win of the three and would move on no worse than 4 1/2 games in front. Should the Sox earn a sweep,they would have it down to 2 1/2 games.
