Pirates Defeat Cubbies, 3-1
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The first game in the battle for fourth place in the NL Central Division goes to Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Bucs defeated the Chicago Cubs 3-1 on Friday.
The Cubs will try to make September another winning month, after posting their first above-.500 month of the season in August.
They swept a four-game series in Pittsburgh in early August. A sweep of this series would have tied them with the Pirates for fourth place after Sunday's game.
The Pirates have won 5 of 7 games this year at Wrigley. The Cubs' Ryan Dempster took the loss for the Cubs
