CHICAGO (CBS/WBBM) – Three suspects were in custody and police were searching for a fourth on Sunday, after they fired shots and led police on a chase in the Lakeview neighborhood overnight.

As WBBM Newsradio’s Steve Miller reports, it began about 4 a.m. in the 1500 block of North Kingsbury Street – in an area known for nightclubs right off the Clybourn Corridor.

Police said that officers heard gunshots coming from that area and checked it out.

Witnesses pointed the officers toward a blue Honda Civic and police chased the car until it crashed into a pole about two miles away at Belmont and Sheffield avenues.

Four men fled the car and officers caught up with the driver and two passengers, police said. The fourth suspect got away and police were still searching for that man Sunday morning.

Police said a weapon was recovered.

Charges were expected later Sunday, according to police.
