U Of I Experiences Record Enrollment
URBANA, Ill. (CBS) -- The University of Illinois' main campus downstate has a record number of students enrolled this year.
As WBBM Newsradio's Mike Krauser reports, the U of I says it has 42,606 students at its Champaign-Urbana campus this semester – about 600 better than last year.

The figures break down to about 31,932 undergraduates, 9,551 graduate students, and 1,123 professional students.
The liberal Arts and Sciences school is the university's largest, with 11,405 undergraduates and 2,484 graduate students.
The engineering school follows, with 6,455 undergraduates and 2,557 graduate students.
