CHICAGO (STMW) – A woman’s body was pulled from Lake Michigan in the North Side Edgewater neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

Police were notified about 12:49 p.m. that someone had discovered a body in the water at Thorndale and the lake, near some rocks, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

The body was that of an unidentified woman who appears to be in her 40s, according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

According to unconfirmed dispatch reports, the body did not appear to have been in the water for a long time.
