They eventually locked the couple in a bedroom, barricaded the door shut with furniture, and ransacked the house, the newspaper reported.

The Northwest Indiana Times reported one of the residents climbed out a window and called police from a neighbor's home. But the men were gone by the time officers arrived, last seen driving away in a green Dodge station wagon with no license plate.

Police are not saying what the men took from the home, but there were no injuries.

The newspaper only describes the assailants as being between 30 and 40.
