CHICAGO (STMW) – Service on the CTA’S Blue Line was disrupted for more than an hour as police investigated a report of a suspicious package in the Northwest Side Logan Square neighborhood Wednesday evening.

Police received the report about 5:45 p.m. in the 2600 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

The Blue Line was shut down between the Belmont and Western stations due to the police activity but normal service was resumed at 7:06 p.m., CTA spokeswoman Sheila Gregory said.

Trains were bypassing both the Belmont and Western stations and a bus shuttle was also in place during that time, she said.
