CHICAGO (CBS) — A person ran into a grocery store in the Auburn-Gresham neighborhood after being shot in broad daylight Wednesday.

Sources told CBS 2’s Pamela Jones the victim was involved in a quarrel at a taco restaurant near 87th and Morgan streets, and ran half a block east to Sangamon Street to get away. But the victim was shot somewhere along the way.

The victim was inside the 5 Star Foods store at 87th and Sangamon streets before an ambulance responded.

A police sergeant on the scene took the victim to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No one was in custody in the shooting as of shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday.
