Gammons: Shapiro Is The Guy For The Cubs
(CBS) Here's a new name for the Cubs general manager search: Mark Shapiro.
Shapiro is the President of the Cleveland Indians. He was promoted to his current position after the 2010 season after serving as the team's general manager since 2001.
And the MLB Network's Peter Gammons think he is a great fit for the Cubs.

"He's a brilliant guy," Gammons said on The Mully and Hanley Show Friday. "He's tremendous in terms of organization, laying everything out. He is a massive delegative authority, which I think is very important. He's been farm director, general manger, he's re-built teams. He is so thoughtful that I think that if the Cubs want a very strong public presence, I think he's it."
