Morton Grove Motorcyclist Dies In Crash

SCHILLER PARK, Ill. (STMW) – A who man died early this morning after a motorcycle crash in northwest suburban Schiller Park has been identified.

At 11:34 p.m. Friday, 47-year-old Ramon J. Szara was traveling north in the 4200 block of River Road when he lost control of the 1997 Harley Davison he was driving and crashed, according to a release from police.

Schiller Park paramedics took him to the hospital but Szara, of the 5800 block of Washington Street in Morton Grove, was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m. Saturday at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

There were no witnesses to the crash, which left more than 250 feet of skid marks, according to the release.

Schiller Park police are investigating and an autopsy is scheduled for later today.

    My thoughts and prayers go to his family. I’m not saying he wasn’t wearing a helmet but to my fellow riders please wear your helmets. They will help protect you.

    Amen to that. Unfortunately most motorcyclists don’t wear helmets or any other safety equipment and that scares the hell out of me when I’m behind them. Our condolences to the family.

    A loss of life at 47 is a shame.Condolences to his family.Helmet or no helmet probably wouldn’t have made a difference,250 feet of skid marks is the result of way too much speed.Ride sensible and safe guys and gals.
