The third-generation owner says they make different holiday cakes for the German, Scandinavian, Polish and Puerto Rican customers who have moved into the neighborhood at North and Kedzie over the years.

John Roeser the fourth says it's a difficult way to make a living, working about 70 hours a week, but he couldn't imagine doing anything else.

John the third created what he calls a masterpiece cake for the anniversary celebration Sunday night that started at 5 p.m.
