Updated 09/18/11 - 12:43 p.m.

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are looking for a red minivan following a shooting that left one man dead and another critically wounded Sunday morning on the Southwest Side.

The shooting happened at 7:50 a.m. in the 5800 block of South Washtenaw Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.

The victims were on the street when someone opened fire, killing one man in his 20s, and critically wounded another man in his late 20s, Perez said.

A spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said the unidentified man was Hispanic and was dead on the scene at 5843 S. Washtenaw Ave.

The surviving victim was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, said Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis. Perez said that man was shot in the chest and arm.

The suspects were seen in a red minivan that fled the scene after the attack, the officer said.

No arrests have been made as of 9:30 a.m.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
