BOLINGBROOK (CBS) — A 30-year-old man is being held on $3 million bond after reportedly molesting a young girl two years ago.
William K. Freund allegedly made videos of himself having sex with his former girlfriend’s then-6-year-old daughter in 2009.
Lt. Mike Rompa said the victim’s mother called police around 8:50 p.m. Saturday immediately after she “received a picture text message of her ex-boyfriend engaged in sexual conduct with the victim.”
Prosecutors said the message was sent by Freund’s wife. Rompa would not confirm who sent the message but said “it was sent intentionally.”
“The victim, now 8, and her mother previously lived with Freund for three years,” Rompa said.
Police found Freund at home around 9:10 p.m. Saturday and brought him to the station for questioning. He allegedly told police his 6-year-old victim was a willing participant in his activities.
Prosecutors said Freund had sex with the girl and filmed the encounters between March and June 2009.
At a bond hearing Monday, prosecutors told Judge Marzell Richardson police found more than 130 naked photos of the victim and videos of the girl performing sex acts.
They also reportedly found sealed plastic bags containing girls’ underwear.
Freund faces 10 criminal counts, including predatory criminal sexual assault, aggravated child pornography and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. If convicted, he faces at least 36 years in prison.
