Add: Nate Washington
Nate Washington was one of my favorite sleepers heading into last week, even while Kenny Britt was healthy. Now, with Britt finished for the year, Washington has massive upside in the suddenly pass-heavy Tennessee offense. How much has Matt Hasselbeck improved Washington’s output? Through three games this year, Washington is averaging 88 yards per game, that average is more than he put up in all but three games last year. He’s my top pickup of the week.
Drop: Tim Hightower
To be clear, I’m not advocating dropping Tim Hightower. Trade him. Pronto. Because, at this rate, he’s only a week or two removed from being on this list as a drop guy. As the lead runner for the Redskins this year, he’s been even worse than in Arizona. That’s saying plenty. He had a dismal career average of 3.9 YPC in Arizona. He’s at 3.5 now. He’s got decent hands, but he’s chipping in just 24 receiving yards per game. His two touchdowns are masking fantasy players from his ineffectiveness as a runner. Nobody changes runners faster Mike Shanahan. It’s only a matter of time.
