Les Grobstein Show - 9/27/11 *UPDATE*

GROBBER---Sept 27,2011
====================
So it's done. Ozzie Guillen has beaten Mike Quade out the door. The difference is,Ozzie has gone out on his own terms. He asked for his release as was granted it by the White Sox with one year remaining. The Sox retain the rights to compensation should any team hire him(Marlins?)as Manager. I remember when Ozzie was traded to the Sox along with Luis Salazar and Tim Lollar for Lamar Hoyt in 1985. Ozzie could not speak English except for a certain word that started with the sixth letter of the alphabet. He learned quickly. He was always chatty during after after games. Was always fun. He became VERY loyal to the White Sox and stayed that way,even when they let him go after the 1997 season. He always hated the Cubs, even in the old mid season Cross Town exhibition games,although he was good friends with his Cub counterpart Shawon Dunston. When Guillen was a Coach with the Marlins in 2003,he took great pride in helping them beat the Cubs in the 2003 NLCS. He then of course got the Sox Manger job and in just his second season,led them to their first World Championship since 1917. That is something that both he and Kenny Williams will be remembered for as time goes on!
Where ever you end up Ozzie, THAT YOU FOR GREAT MEMORIES THAT WILL LIVE ON FOREVER!
