Epstein To Chicago?
(CBS) According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, sources indicate the Red Sox will allow general manager Theo Epstein to interview with the Cubs.
Sherman tweets: "I am shocked, but in last 36 hrs every exec talk to says believe Red Sox will give permssion and Theo will go to Cubs to be GM."
Epstein has come under fire lately as he oversaw one of the most historic collapses in baseball history as the Red Sox missed out on a Wildcard berth in dramatic fashion. The team already parted ways with manager Terry Francona on Friday.
The Cubs GM position has been open since the official dismissal of Jim Hendry in August.
