One Wounded In Police-Involved Shooting On South Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police shot a person late Saturday in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 11 p.m. in the 6200 block of South Eberhart Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

Independent Police Review Authority spokesman William Weeden confirmed the police-involved shooting and said that a suspect was struck.

The person was taken to an area hospital in an unidentified condition Greer said.

Further details were not immediately available.

The IPRA investigates all police-involved shootings.
