3 Arrested After South Shore Police Chase

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Charges are pending against three men who were arrested following a police chase, in which a vehicle slammed into several parked cars on the city's South Side.

As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, about half a dozen parked cars were damaged during the police chase in the South Shore neighborhood Sunday night.

Police say around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, officers pulled over maroon Mercury for several traffic violations, and when the officers got close to the car, they noticed drugs inside.

The driver sped off, and a couple of blocks away in the 7800 block of South Oglesby Avenue, the chased car hit several parked cars before police caught up with it.

The driver, described as being in his 40s, and two women passengers were arrested, police said. All three were also taken in stable condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
