CHICAGO (STMW) — Police are looking for a man accused of performing a lewd act within view of three grammar school students as they walked to school in the South Side Cottage Grove Heights neighborhood last month.

It happened about 8:30 a.m. in the 9600 block of South Greenwood Avenue, according to a community alert issued by Calumet Area detectives. The man is wanted for a public peace violation.

Three grammar school children were walking to school when a man drove slowly alongside them in a dark vehicle. After loitering in the area for several minutes, he parked his vehicle in close proximity of the children and began to masturbate within their view, the alert said.

The offender is a black man between 20 and 35, with a medium complexion and mustache/goatee. He was driving a black, two-door vehicle and may also be in possession of a white Cadillac, the alert said.
